Design and validation of a system of categories to assess the written discourse of L2 English learners

This study is part of a broader research focused on written discourse analysis and its application in English language teaching. paper aims to design evaluate the validity content an instrument (a system categories) built analyse L2 (English) 112 Spanish students Upper Secondary Education. was carried out from qualitative approach using technique Delphi with five experts field. The results show that category has as it meets criteria ensure scientific rigour methodology: credibility, transferability, dependence confirmability. Moreover, there high score terms interrater reliability contrasted Kendall's W test (>.07), well coding process which confirmed Cohen's Kappa (.658). It can be concluded this valid tool help ELF teachers secondary school teaching learning foreign language.
